Maurice Brennan
Maurice Brennan trained as an architect and began working with Lord Richard Rogers, architect of the Lloyd’s Building, in 1994. He has since maintained his practice’s involvement with this landmark building, contributing to its care, adaptation, and stewardship.
He studied at University College London and the Royal College of Art, where his interest in painting began.
Working mainly at large scale in oil and acrylic, his paintings move between figuration and abstraction while remaining centred on the human form, the city, and the Contemporary Landscape.
Drawing and recording his surroundings directly informs his painting, with works often done rapidly, using graphite, charcoal, ink, and digital media.
His work has been exhibited in the UK and internationally and is held in private collections.
