I worked in the Lloyds marine market for J H Minet, Aon and finally Energex for over forty years, eventually retiring in 2005. My hobby was sailing, generally on the East Coast and Thames Estuary, and from that came a love of the old sailing barges that could still be seen trading under sail in the 1950’s. Upon retirement I began to paint, mainly marine subjects, joining the Southend Art Club and Lloyd’s Art Group.
