I am a contemporary abstract artist living in Leigh on Sea, Essex. In the early 90’s I worked in Lloyd’s before embarking on a career in teaching art. My husband Tim is a Senior Underwriter at Ark Syndicate Management Limited.

I create art using a range of materials including acrylics, inks, cold wax and collage. My inspirations come from childhood memories, outdoor walks and the experience of being immersed in nature.

My process is very experimental and often involves using plants as mark-making tools to help me create unexpected and expressive marks. I love to use layers in my work to create depth, texture and atmosphere. The sense of mystery that can be achieved using veils of colour is something that I find particularly fascinating and is a feature within my recent work.
