Retired in 2005, having been a marine broker for 34 years with the same company, which is becoming most unusual in the business! Interests Wine, food, painting, literature, bridge, shooting. At a slow and late stage of writing and illustrating a recipe book for the culinary-challenged on a self-catering holiday. An illustrated children’s poetry book is in early stages and has been for some time. Currently working on illustrations for a children’s short story. Member of the Court of the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights and, since 1974, Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers, where several paintings have been exhibited. Sits on the board of trustees of the Thomas Heatherley School of Fine Art and a member of the Chelsea Arts Club. Painting History I was given a box of paints by my father for Christmas in 1988, and have spent available time since discovering how much there is to learn! No formal full time training since school, but have attended life classes at Heatherley’s for over 10 years, with various courses in between. Selected for the Lynn Painter’s Prize exhibition in 2006.
