Greatly influenced by Japanese art as well as the light of southern France where she lived for over twenty years, Jackie’s work ranges from pure contemporary watercolour on a large scale, to expressive pen+ink and delicate pencil – all experimental in nature. Her new work is quite unique, focusing as it does on her long time obsession with white space and the 3D manipulation of paper.
Jackie has travelled extensively, her sketchbooks being her constant companions. Her sketches form the backbone of her work, and it is only back in the studio that her ideas flow into another dimension.
Jackie’s work is well published and collected internationally. She has exhibited widely throughout the UK and France, USA and Japan. She has shown in Cork Street; Mayfair; Bankside and Menier Galleries with the SGFA; Bankside Gallery with the RWS; Mall Galleries with the RI; Westminster with the SWA, as well as having had numerous solo and shared exhibitions.
