Painting is, for me an escape. I love colour and experimentation. After A level art I had little time to develop my skills until retirement when I attended several local watercolour workshops. Once I had gifted myself a small studio in the garden I was able to spend more time and energy on creating pictures of natural objects, landscapes, still life (most things really). People say I have a wide range of subject matter and I exhibit and sell most paintings that escape the bin.
I also give many away to unsuspecting friends and family members who admire something on which I am working. I would rather see them on their walls than mine.
I am a member of Cambridge Open Studios and curate an annual exhibition in my village. I will also be exhibiting in the Huntingdon Bridge Arts Festival this summer.
I run workshops monthly at a local gallery, where I also exhibit and love passing on ideas to others.
