Having no formal training, background or influence, I have developed my own style using mixed media, mainly pastel, pencil and, recently, some ink-pen experimentation. My work is largely inspired by internal emotion and experiences which are then applied to an abstract, surreal, or stylised theme. Many of my works begin with a feeling which will evolve during the time I spend on the piece - some of which involves intricate and painstaking detail - sometimes I even surprise myself with the end result! I have a fascination for flowing shapes, blended colours, movement and, bizarrely, trees which appear quite regularly in my more recent pieces.
