A self taught artist, Gillian has painted for many years, her style developing and changing throughout them. Much time is spent in the studio finding ways to convey her ideas in paint to other people. Her pictures start by using natural landscapes, trees and edges of buildings in a realistic way. These then, through a process of layering with acrylic paints, gels and a variety of other media, including earth and leaves, take on a fantasy feel. This strong textured work forms a frame which often encloses a much simpler area of light or space. Gillian has exhibited both locally and in the Mall Gallery London.
