Christine Strand

I am a photographer of nature, in particular plants. I have been photographing plants for the last ten years, starting off with a film camera and setting up a darkroom in my father's shed but, in recent years, I have moved to using digital more. What I mainly like to capture and focus on is the patterns I see in nature in their purest forms, which can make the subject sometimes look abstract. I choose not to use Photoshop on my photographs purely as I let what i see speak for itself. I take inspiration from Ansel Adams but ultimately it was my grandfather's photography that fuelled my desire to do more with this medium.
